CHDecide

(formerly known as iDecide)
CHDecide helps you locate the most rational decision. The program uses the expected-utility theory to make predictions of which option you should choose.

CHDecide will ask you to estimate how likely you are to succeed with an option, how much it's worth for you and how much it hurts if you fail. It will then compute which option is expected to give most happiness. You might think that you don't need a program to make your choices, but research has shown that humans are surprisingly bad at picking the most logical choices. Useful or fun? You decide!

    F.A.Q.

Q: Which language is CHDecide written in? Can it be ported to another platform?
A: It's written in Objective-C and uses the Aqua framework. I doubt it can be ported to another platform. It would be far easier to write a new program from scratch. It's a simple application. If I have time I might make a Gtk or QT version for Linux.

Q: Can I have the sourcecode?
A: Yes, but not right now. I want to release another version first.

Q: Which licence is CHDecide released under?
A: For the moment it's "Freeware" but it'll probably be released under the GNU Public Licence later.
